Innovative research activities and technologies on recycling and reuse of demolished construction materials as well as industrial by-products have been the key of pushing the construction industry into a sustainable future. The 2nd International Conference on Sustainable Construction Materials (SusCoM2012) is aimed to provide open opportunities for materials scientists and civil engineers to discuss recent research advancements in the area of recycling and reuse of construction materials.

Wuhan is recognized as the political, economic, financial, cultural, educational, and transportation center of central China, lying at the strategic confluence of the Yangtze and Han River. Wuhan is a city with both an ancient history and a thriving present. Historic relics excavated from ancient tombs tell the city's long history dating back 3,500 years. The Yellow Crane Tower is one of three most famous historical towers south of the Yangtze River, revealing the high craftsmanship of the Chinese traditional architecture.
The East Lake is the biggest scenery tourist attraction in Wuhan and also the largest lake within a city in China. The Guiyuan Buddhist Temple is known as "the ancient temple at the Buddhist centre”. Wuhan is also the most convenient base from which to explore the Three Gorges project and other fascinating cities in China.
